Four vehicles, including a Honda Civic and a Seat Ibiza, were involved in a crash on the A59 in North Yorkshire at 20:40 on Sunday 16 December 2007. The 30-year-old male driver of the Seat Ibiza and a 41-year-old male passenger in the Seat Ibiza were killed, two other people were seriously injured and two were slightly injured.

It happened after dark with no street lighting in fine weather on a wet single carriageway with a 60 mph limit, at a crossroads.
