Fifteen vehicles, including a motorcycle and a Ford Focus, were involved in a crash on the A90 in Angus at 18:15 on Thursday 18 January 2001. The 46-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was killed, one other person was seriously injured and three were slightly injured.

It happened after dark with no street lighting in fine weather on a wet dual carriageway with a 70 mph limit, away from any junction.
